Lin Ling Tao Association (LLTA)

 

Founded in 2023, LLTA is a Taoism non-profit organization in Orange County, California. Our mission is "promote a balanced, harmonious and natural way of life". This is seen as not only beneficial for the individual, but also for society and the world as a whole.

 

The LLTA vision:

• Pursue balance and harmony in all aspects of life.

• Promote peace and harmony in society.

• Seek to understand the ultimate nature of reality.

 

The LLTA assists individual in need through:

• Study Taoist teachings and learn from sages including the Tao Te Ching.

• Cultivate mindfulness and inner stillness through practices such as meditation, qigong, and tai chi.

• Visit Taoist temples to worship and participate in rituals and ceremonies. These temples are often adorned with intricate artwork and symbols of Taoist philosophy, and are places of peace and contemplation.

• Live in harmony with the natural world, observing its rhythms and cycles, respecting its strength and beauty.

• Embrace the principle of Wu-Wei or "non-action" and go with the flow, without trying to force or control things.

 

The central idea of Taoism is the belief in the Tao, which can be translated as "the way" or "the path." The Tao is considered to be the natural order of the universe, the underlying principle that governs all things. The mission of Taoism is to help individuals align themselves with the Tao and live in harmony with the natural world. This involves cultivating virtues such as humility, simplicity, and compassion, and letting go of ego-driven desires and attachments. By doing so, individuals can achieve a state of inner peace and wisdom, and become more attuned to the rhythms of nature and the universe.
